Jessica Zappia

(Washington, DC, USA)

Jessica has always loved studying body movement, and began training in martial arts at the age of 8. She earned her black belt in Taekwondo at age 15 and continued to practice martial arts through college.
Once graduated from William and Mary in 2007, Jessica began her pursuit of the Argentine Tango. Influenced by her Argentine heritage, Jessica immediately felt a connection with the dance. She studied almost exclusively under Pablo Fontana and spent one month training with DNI Tango School in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Jessica currently helps organize a weekly tango practice with 50+ member attendance per week. She is very passionate about building community and fostering an open and encouraging environment to grow and learn together.
