* Films *

Within this project we would like to shoot a few short films about Tango Dancers and starting with  a few short films. Solo Tango might be a feature film if there is enough funding.

The challenge of making films with TANGO MUSIC is that such a series requires over $350,000 including clearing music rights for some of these films to allow to get them into festivals and public screenings :(. Because it is quite hard to get such money in various funding, the project had to be simplified and significantly stretched in timeline.

At this point TDProject has got through fan support about CAD$300. This budget helped to produce a few interviews for the blog.

However once in a while we publish an interview or article on the Tango Dancers Blog, and we are not giving up ideas for the documentary films, and keep on working on some of them :).  LIKE our Facebook page, SUBSCRIBE to the YouTube channel and stay tuned with the updates!  Find out HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT & ROCK :) >>

PERSONALITIES / CHARACTERS:

The original idea and plan was to create these wonderful films.

The order or appearance reflects when I met those great people and started thinking about the films. The film about Monica will be finished first as it was shot first, "SOLO TANGO" is in the development / early production stage (see details below).

Creators of the TDProject leave yourself the right to change the documentary films as is best for the project and creative approach.

Film 1: "SOLO TANGO"
(feature length, currently in production)

After appearing on the Argentine tango scene a few years ago, “Solo Tango Orquesta”  (Moscow, Russia)  developed as tango musicians with a sky-rocket speed now “exploding” concert halls and festival scenes with admired ovation all around the world. They keep treating their fans to unique musical performances, never stopping to amaze, surprise and inspire. On this journey we will have a chance to spend time with the orchestra and their manager more and will follow them on a “road trip” to a tango event to get a glimpse into their tango and non-tango life.  You will get a feeling of a different world and the musicians' lifestyle,
will be surprised, puzzled and amazed. And who knows, maybe inspired to learn tango :).
Main Characters:  Alexander Ryazanov, Ivan Talanin, Artem Timin, Ilya Alpeev, Irina Peretyatko.

NB: due to the lack of funding this project has been suspended for a few years, however it we will keep working on it whenever there is a chance and funding :).
Unfortunately, apart from many production costs clearing particular tango compositions (acquiring rights for using in film & tv) costs a lot of money - by rough estimate over USD $100,000, which is unreal for indie filmmakers... However, we decided to keep the work and look for funding later.
