How it started...
Hi there,
Thank you very much for stopping by at this website.
Let me tell you a bit what inspired me to start the TangoDancers "documentary" project and what this project is about.
It's been 10 years since i started dancing Argentine tango, i learned and practiced it on and off and in a way and at times it's been a challenging relationship (well, we all know how it can be :)). However, during all those years i've been lucky to meet so many AMAZING PEOPLE through tango that it's them who first thing keep me being inspired by this beautiful dance, and keep listening to the unbelievably rich tango music.
Since i happened to be a photographer and an (emerging) indie filmmaker as well i decided "it's time! to take a camera and start shooting some stories about tango dancers." While i was thinking over who i'd like to get to know better and collaborate with, i realized that that list was sooo long that it might be slightly unrealistic to create so many short docs in the given time frame :(. So..., after some sleepless nights, a great idea came to me - to shoot 5 films (to start with) and also create the Tango Dancers Blog where a lot more fun stories and creative material by the blog's team and other talent can be featured.
Of course there are probably tons of fabulous blogs online out there... as well as magazines... Unfortunately, myself I never had time to explore them properly (btw, feel free to recommend something!)... However, oh, well, if one does something with love and puts heart into it, i am sure there will be a group of people who might enjoy this blog in some way.
So I was really happy that my dear friend Anna agreed to be part oft the TangoDancers Project's team and Subbu and a few more will join later on the journey. If you are a writer/ filmmaker / editor/ photographer/ media artist/ musician... and would like to contribute to the TangoDancers Documentary project, please contact us and we will figure out how to involve you.
... With the Tango Dancers project we will get behind the scenes of the dance and meet a lot of great characters which might make you smile, wonder, be moved, surprised, or maybe even puzzled... entertained at times and in many cases inspired, and hopefully never bored!
Thank you in advance for your support and patience!
And who knows :), maybe some day a story about YOU or YOUR FRIEND will be shining on the pages of the Tango Dancers Blog.
Good luck with your own projects and feel free to leave your feedback. Can't wait to have you as the TangoDancersProject's fan! :)
Best wishes,
Tatiana
